US group the Newsboys are embarking on a road journey called The 'Circus Con Dios'

IN AN unprecedented touring move, America's the Newsboys are taking their own portable venue on the road. The 'Circus Con Dios' tour of America supporting the pop rock team's new Love Liberty Disco' album will be concerts in the round performed in a 25,000 square foot, air conditioned, heated dome with a 4O-by-4O foot hydraulic stage in the middle. The tour crew will leapfrog two 40-foot domes from city to city, going ahead to set one up at the next stop while the other is in use. The portable venue holds a maximum of 3,400 to 3,500 people. The Newsboys manager Wes Campbell said, "We're basically applying 2Ist century technology to go back and create the original form of a venue for entertainment - the circus " and everyone is watching us. The music industry is watching to see what happens. If we pull it off, a Christian band can affect the whole pop culture scene. CR
