Plans unveiled for the launch of transmitters

AT A LUNCH at the House Of Lords attended by many leading political figures, United Christian Broadcasters (UCB) unveiled its plans for the building of two transmitters which will make it Britain's first national terrestrial radio station. Having obtained frequencies from the Russian Federation the plan is to build the transmitters on a site in the UK. The project is budgeted to cost £3.5 million.

Managing director of UCB Gareth Littler spoke about the financial challenge in meeting the costs of purchasing a site and transmitters and launching the two channels UCB Europe and UCB Cross Rhythms on Medium and Long Wave, "UCB has always been a widow's mite ministry. We exist solely through the giving of thousands of Christian partners who, with God, own this ministry. For example, a dear lady sends us a Scottish one pound note each week. We are confident God will meet our needs."
