After 10 years America's The Elms call it a day
THE AMERICAN rock band The Elms, who had successful Christian market albums like 'The Big Surprise' (2001) and 'Truth, Soul, Rock & Roll' (2002) before launching into the mainstream in 2006 with the album 'The Chess Hotel', have announced they are folding in July. Read a band statement, "After 10 extraordinary years of life lived closely together, the members of The Elms will very amicably part ways and end our tenure as a rock and roll band. There are no salacious discrepancies between band members to report to you, and no dramatic elements to run through the rumour mill. Simply stated, the time has come to move on." The band will play their last concert at Radio Radio in Indianapolis on 30th July.
The Elms will be releasing a digital box set 'Stoppin' On A Dime: Live & Rare 2000-2001'. Said band member Owen Thomas, "We've worked hard on this compilation, which contains 40 tracks chosen from countless hours that the boys and I spent recording and performing together over the last decade - including songs that many of you have been asking about for a long, long time. We've also created a particularly special retrospective digi-book that we'd love for you to flip through and see a few great moments in the life of this band, presented through the eyes of some wonderfully talented photographers. You know, memory lane and all that."
