Adrian Snell returns with major production in St Paul's Cathedral
BRITISH Christian music veteran Adrian Snell will premiere The Cry: A
Requiem For The Lost Child at St Paul's Cathedral on 16th November.
The production is in aid of Save The Children and features music
composed by Snell and directed by David Drummond. The Cry remembers
children who've lost their lives or childhood because of warfare,
armed conflict or ethnic cleansing. The lead vocalists in the
production are Niamh Perry (BBC 1's I'd Do Anything) and opera star
Mark Stone. They will be joined by violinist Jeanine Thorpe (BBC 2's
Classical Star and Maestro), The London Oriana Choir, The London
Oratory School Schola and keyboard player Dave Bainbridge (Iona). The
performance will be introduced by the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan
Williams and the production will feature a rap, specially recorded for
the premiere, by Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
I was there, and it was beautyful.
