Russ Taff leaves the Gaither Vocal Band.

WELL KNOWN American CCM singer Russ Taff has announced his departure from the Gaither Vocal Band to resume his solo career. He departed the group at the end of January but will continue to be a featured performer on Bill Gaither's Homecoming tours. Taff was with the Gaither Vocal Band - together with Bill Gaither, David Phelps and Guy Penrod - for three years. Taff has won five Grammy Awards and nine Dove Awards and is known for such hits as "We Will Stand", "Medals" and "Bein' Happy".

Russ has had a life of trials and we wish him the very best future..did Russ sing with The Tommy Hunter show from Nashville for a time in the 90's?

The GVB is my favorite! I really love the way Taff sings. I miss David, he has such an awesome voice. And Guy's voice is great. Keep singing!! THE GVB is always a blessing to me. God Bless you all. We love watching GVB here in Fiji, and we do hope that one day you will come and have a concert here in Fiji.

I have loved the GVB for quite sometime. This last Christmas I was blessed with tickets to a GVB concert in Pensacola, Fl on April 4th and tonight's the night. The Give It Away Tour 2008 is finally here. I can't think of a better way for my wife and me to spend an evening than Praising Our Lord and Savior with the GVB. We are ready for one awesome night of great music, great musicians, and wonderful singing. I just know it will be everything I anticiapte it to be.

The GVB is my favourite favourite!!! The old videos (where Russ / Mark / David were still part of the team) are great, but the new videos are also great with the existing team (Bill, Guy, Marshall, Wes). The GVB is always a blessing to me, whether I'm sad, happy, tired, ill, jumping with joy - you can see and hear the love of Jesus while they perform! God bless you all. Love from South Africa.

Faces seem to change throughout the years with the GVB, but I am glad that there is one thing that never changes, and that is our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, the ever-lasting Son of God! Bill & Gloria have been a blessing to us down through the years, and am sure they will continue to do so for at least a few more to come.

I really loved the way Russ Taff sang I'm Glad at the concert in Johannseburg, So. Africa, recently! I miss David, he has such an awesome voice! But I love the new vocal band, with Wes Hampton, and Marshall Hall. and of course it wouldn't be the same, without Guy, and Bill. Keep up the great work, guys, God bless!

There has never been a voice like that of Ruff Taff. The emotion behind his unique, unmatched singing, is powerful and will bring you to your feet or to your knees. Either way, you know you've been in the presence of God when Russ Taff leads us to the throne room. If only I could sing, I would ask to be given a talent equal to that of Russ Taff. Wow!
Bill Gaither has been a blessing down through the years and he's certainly met a need in Russ's life. I'm excited to see what's in store for The Gaither Vocal Band and will follow Russ Taff closely. They are both legends in their own time, but Russ Taff can sing a song better than any one I know. I've seen him in concert... several times. He's one of a kind!
