Sweet Honey In The Rock change personnel but keep going in 30th year.

FAMED female acappella group Sweet Honey In The Rock are going from strength to strength even with the retirement in February of its beloved founder Bernice Johnson Reagon. Returning to the group after a 27-year absence is founding member Louise Robinson. The reconstituted group performed in New Jersey on 17th April. Long-time member Ysaye M Barnwell reports that the group will be collaborating to compose a piece for the 40th anniversary of the Washington Performing Arts Society, to be performed with the Children Of Gospel and the Men And Women Of Gospel in 2005. Sweet Honey In The Rock have also contributed a track to the 'Creole Bread' album on Vanguard, a tribute to Creole and zydeco music. The group, now in their 30th anniversary year, are preparing to be filmed by award-winning filmmaker Stanley Nelson, who is making a documentary to be aired later this year. CR
