Pop dance outfit Storm disbands
STORM (featured in CR48), whose self-titled debut album had a successful release through Kingsway-distributed Survivor Records, have ceased to exist as a gigging and recording dance group. In their latest newsletter, Soul Survivor, who launched Storm in 1998, announced that the group has folded. Said Mike Pilavachi, "The last few months have been very painful and confusing for all of us on the team as we have been trying to work out the right thing to do. This is a hard thing to say, but I heard God wrong. I know many of you will be very disappointed to hear this, and we are incredibly grateful to all of you who have supported us, not least those of you who gave money in the summer to get this band off the ground. I would like to assure you that your money is being used wisely in continuing the local work started by STORM (Schools Team OutReach Ministry). While I believe I got it wrong, all we ever wanted to do was to reach young people in schools with the Gospel. Our aim remains the same: to reach young people with the good news of Jesus and to encourage others in developing schools work around the country. We are thrilled at the way this is beginning to happen and I'm embarrassed to say that I got the initial methods wrong."
