UK rockers Split Level call it quits after a series of bookings in Europe

VETERAN UK rock band Split Level are to call it a day after completing a series of bookings in Europe. The band, whose albums included 'Sons Of Liberty' (1987),' View Of A World' (1991), 'Boomerang' (1993), 'Global' (1997) and their latest release 'Live' (2000) have been a seminal force in developing Christian alternative rock in the UK. Two of the band's original members are now important figures in Christian music, Adrian Thompson, working as head of AaR at ICC Records, and Del Currie, fronting popular band Fono. Said Split Level's lead vocalist and composer Adrian Thompson about the decision to break up Split Level, "There is no longer the energy to keep the band going with the band members based in entirely different areas of the country. Also, the new material I am writing doesn't really suit the band. Weil be playing in Europe over the next four months before calling it a day.' The band's last UK concert was in Tunbridge Wells in May.
