BMG buy 50 percent of American Christian label Sparrow Records.
GOSPEL Music giants Sparrow, the name behind the successful composers such as Steven Curtis Chapman, Susan Ashton, Steve Camp, John Michael Talbot, and others, have sold 50 percent of its music catalogue to secular music giants BMG.
The sale only affects copyrights of the songs, which number nearly 3,000 at the time of the sale. The deal will also extend to new works published by Sparrow, who publish under the names Birdwing (ASCAP), Sparrow Song (BMI), and His Eye (SESAC).
