Steven Curtis Chapman and Nichole Nordeman speak about their songs on Narnia compilation.
THE FIRST of three soundtracks tying in with the December release of the films based on CS Lewis' Narnia books has just been released. 'Music Inspired By: The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe' features new songs from Steven Curtis Chapman, Jeremy Camp, Nichole Nordeman, Rebecca St James and Jars Of Clay. Chapman said he wrote his song from the perspective of the children in the story. "It could be Lucy, it could be any of the children at the end of the story saying, 'Whenever I see the first sings of spring, I'm going to be remembering you. I'm going to be remembering Aslan, remembering the story and what is to come,'" he said.
Nordeman, who wrote the song "I Will Believe", hopes it will capture what it is like to once again feel childlike enthusiasm. "I'm just thrilled to be a really small drop of water in what I think is going to be a huge splash with this film," she said. "And I hope that this song stirs up some of the magic and the wonder that maybe as adults we forget about from our childhood years."
