Numerous gospel stars contribute to 'Handel's Messiah: A Soulful Celebration'
UNIQUE version of Handel's Messiah featuring a bevy of top R&B and gospel stars has just been released. 'Handel's Messiah: A Soulful Celebration' features a vast range of artists including Stevie Wonder, Tramaine Hawkins, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, George Duke, the Yellow Jackets, Mike E, the Clark Sisters, Gladys Knight, Lizz Lee, Andrae Crouch, Larnelle Harris, Diane Reeves and the Richard Smallwood Singers. The album, released by Warner / Reprise into mainstream markets and Word (UK) into the Christian market, represents one of the most lavish, expensive and time-consuming productions ever undertaken in Christian music, taking 18 months to record. The album was produced by Take 6 vocalist Mervyn Warren and was originally conceived by Norman Miller, the man responsible for the 'Handel's Messiah' album featuring a host of CCM stars released in 1991 by Word.
