Candi Staton, Percy Sledge, Roberta Flack duet with Cliff Richard on new album
VETERAN pop star Sir Cliff Richard has made an unexpected return to the charts as a soul singer. His 'Soulicious' album on EMI, which has debuted at number 10 in the UK album chart, was produced by Motown legend Lamont Dozier at Willie Mitchell's Royal Studios and Argent Studios, both in Memphis. Most of the songs on 'Soulicious' were written by Lamont Dozier and his son Beau as well as the late Nickolas Ashford and his partner Valerie Simpson. The album features Cliff dueting with Roberta Flack, the Temptations' Dennis Edwards, Freda Payne, Percy Sledge and Candi Staton.
