Socicflood to sign to Jeff Moseley's INO Music label

THE TURBULENT history of gold-selling rock worship band Sonicflood continues with the announcement that the band, who now contain none of its original members, have been signed to Jeff Moseley's INO Music and that the band's former lead singer Jeff Deyo has been signed to Gotee (Sonicflood's former label) as a solo artist. The Sonicflood debut on INO will be 'Resignate', scheduled for September release in the US. The most recent Sonicflood project, a live album called 'Sonicpraise', was released just over a month ago, after having been rolled back from its original September 2000 release date due to turmoil within the band. The turnover began in May of last year when vocalist Jeff Deyo, one of the founding members, was asked to resign from the band due to what he says were differences of opinion between him and the other group members. In July 2000, drummer Aaron Blanton left the fold and in August two more founding members, Dwayne Larring and Jason Halbert, left under reported legal pressure from remaining band member, bassist Rick Heil (who did not appear on the band's debut recording). Because each member had equal ownership in the Sonicflood name, it was months later (final negotiations reportedly took place just weeks ago) before a resolution was reached that allowed Heil to officially carry on the group name. Heil denies any threats of legal action, but other sources contacted by The CCM Update alleged that written statements and letters issued on Heil's behalf indicate otherwise.

Over the next few months, Heil recruited new members for Sonicflood, including Tom Michael (bass, vocals), Todd Shay (guitar), Dave Alan (keyboards) and Brett Vargason (drums) and fulfilled the band's commitments for last fall's 'Sonicpraise' tour. Our photo shows the new Sonicflood lineup.
