New US singer/songwriter Shawn McDonald sings of heart experiences.

NEW AMERICAN singer/songwriter Shawn McDonald is about to receive a major US push. The 26 year old Seattle-based musician has his album 'Simply Nothing' released by Sparrow Records in the US in August. The album's autobiographical lyrics reflect the singer's journey of faith. A life-changing encounter with Christ as a young adult led McDonald out of a lifestyle heavily influenced by drugs and compelled him to begin writing music. Said McDonald, "I did a 180 and started running in the other direction. For the next three years my hunger for God was out of control. I couldn't get enough. I spent most of my time studying the Bible and reading every book about God I could get my hands on. In the midst of all that I started writing my own worship songs. Music wasn't something I ever dreamed of doing. But it was the plan God had for me." CR
