Live worship album by Phil Wickham brings attention to Compassion International
EARLIER this year renowned American worship leader Phil Wickham for one month offered as a free download a live album, 'Singalong2'. It was recorded in March at Costa Mesa, California and was intended to bring the work of Compassion International to the attention of Wickham's supporters. Wrote the singer/songwriter on his website, "In giving away 'Singalong2', I also wanted to seize the opportunity to ask all of you to help make a change. Compassion International has helped over one million children rise out of the grasp of poverty in the name of Jesus. Over 25,000 children die every day from a preventable cause. That is a staggering number. Compassion has been hard at work for decades to rise up against the heartbreak of poverty. Not only do they work to meet physical needs, they also meet spiritual needs. In the last year alone over 150,000 children and moms accepted Jesus as their Saviour."
