US band disband
IN A SHOCK statement America's PFR have announced they are disbanding. The band, who have received numerous Grammy and Dove nominations and whose 'Great Lengths' album was picked up for mainstream distribution in the UK by EMI, have told the industry that their new album for Vireo/Sparrow Them' will be their last.
The reason for the band's retirement, according to PFR members Joel Hanson (guitar/vocals), Patrick Andrew (bass/vocals) and Mark Nash (drums) revolves around each seeking to do God's will in their lives. "There was some fear of family getting tossed in the hamper which none of us wanted, but it was more than that," said Hanson. "There was a sense that there wasn't peace with what we were doing. That's what it came down to."
A final 'Now You See Them-Now You Don't' tour is planned for September
in the US taking in 12 US cities with the band's last performance on
September 28 in their hometown Minneapolis. The opening act for the
tour will be new Sparrow band Dogs Of Peace whose vocalist/bass player
Jimmie Lee Sloas produced all four PFR albums.
Uh oh.. it's like Deja Vu all over again!
