US rockers Nodes Of Ranvier criticised for tasteless T-shirt.

A CONTROVERSY has broken out in America over Christian heavy rock band Nodes Of Ranvier. On the band's latest CD one of the members is wearing a Metalica T-shirt with a toilet seat with a metal spike coming out of the middle of it with the caption, "Metal up your .." A letter in HM magazine questions Facedown Records for allowing the photo which editor Doug Van Pelt describes as "tasteless".  CR

i dont see why it matters. who cares about mainstream or any of that they just want to play...you know what? i live where they came from sioux falls, south dakota...i went to their shows so much..and when they wanted to play at lifelight they got shutdown and kicked off stage in the middle of their show.

I just think that it sucks how most christian bands end up converting to mainstream..it is so stupid...they obviouslly arent that dedicated if they would ruin their name just for the money etc etc

Somehow I dont think the Nodes are gonna be involved with the Christian scene for much longer. Their last release will be their last with Facedown, they are chasing a mainstream deal for their next album. Plus if memory serves me right, 1 or 2 of the members are not Christians and so therefore that must be taken into consideration when judging their taste in T-Shirts!
