The subject of suicide is examined on new album by hard rock band Seventh Day Slumber.
THE LEAD singer of American hard music band Seventh Day Slumber, Joseph Rojas, spoke to the press recently about their new album 'Once Upon A Shattered Life'. Rojas told Christian Retailing magazine, "What we want people to know about this record is that it's a powerful message. It deals with subjects that have generally been off-limits in the Christian markets, including the whole suicide issue." Rojas refers to a track called "Chris' Letter", inspired by a letter the band received from a young man intending to end his life. The writer asked, "'Would anybody miss me? Would anyone show up to my funeral?'" Rojas recalled. "In the song, it has the kid dropping to his knees and accepting Jesus. We not only talk about the problems, but we paint Christ as the solution to tough situations."
The band's new album is their first for BEC Recordings and is produced by Aaron Sprinkle. Previously the group released the albums 'Picking Up The Pieces' for Crowne Music Group and 'Freedom From Human Regulations' for Mercystreet.
