I met you when I helped promote a concert you did one Omaha many (or a few) moons ago. It’s good to find you again. I’m looking forward to hearing your music again. Best of luck!

I named my cat Jeni afer you, after I fell in love with your music when I bought No Hesitation.I think on the last track you sound a lot like Bonnie Raitt.

My maiden name is Varnadoe. I have learned that we are all related due to Leonard Varnadeau entering South Caroline from France. I just would like to communicate with you for genealogical purposes. Just let me know if you're interested and if so who are your parents. I am just beginning to put my information on ancestry.com and would love to hear from you. And why the name change?

Hi, Elaine! Yes, Leonard Vernadeau is who we came from!- SO, nice to meet you, cousin! :) My maiden name is Varnado (without the E). :) As you know, it is extremely difficult for people to spell, pronounce, or remember any version of Varnado. It was a HUGE pain to have such a difficult name as a "brand." Even my first name, can have so many spellings, so that, too, is difficult. Especially with everything moving digital and mobile- easy to spell and remember is key. I also felt a need to change markets, so I felt this also helped people have a clear distinction between markets. I'm still me- just targeting a different market. It's been really wonderful to be able to say "go to alexajames.com" and not have to spell it or explain it! :) ahhhh :)
As far as genealogy, i know a few people also researching, so I can connect you. Best way is to visit the community page on my website (http://www.alexajames.com :) - see how easy that was? :)) and if you join my maillist, i'll see your entry, and i can email you from there. Thanks for the note! Alexa

Why the name change? What's wrong with your name the way it was? I liked it.....
