Australia's Midnight Oil considering recording again
AUSTRALIAN rock veterans Midnight Oil, fronted by one-time Australian MP and Christian Peter Garrett, are now considering recording new material, having completed a well-received The Great Circle world tour. Garrett told Record Collector magazine, "We're starting to sit around and play some things, and we'll probably go in at some point and see if we can do something which we all like. I think that'll be the challenge. You've got a band that's really traversed quite a wide area of rock over a lifetime career, but still seems to have the hunger not to just go back and essentially repeat the same motifs or riffs. We're lucky, it's a band full of writers and arrangers, and that always helps, 'cos there's always plenty of material swirling around."
