Mac Powell, Tim Hughes, Leigh Nash record Charles Wesley hymns
A BEVY of top Christian singers and worship leaders are singing the works of great hymn writer Charles Wesley on an album released on 6th December. 'Love Divine' features Mac Powell, Tim Hughes, Leigh Nash, Kim Walker-Smith, Brenton Brown and others. Read a press release, "The truth is that Charles Wesley never really went away. Having written - and published - well over 6,000 songs during his lifetime, Wesley's legacy remains a powerful force for good upon the Church. 150 of his songs are found in the Methodist Hymns And Psalms hymnbook and in the three centuries that have passed since his birth no hymn writers have exceeded his output. 'Love Divine' may be rooted in a time before the industrial revolution but Wesley's songs can be communicated with just as much passion and purpose as when they were first aired."
Key songs on the album, released by Kingsway, include Tim Hughes' version of "I Know That My Redeemer Lives", Jenn Johnson's "Love Divine" and Leigh Nash's "Praise The Lord Who Reigns Above".
