Jeremiah Wood leaves Leeland, replaced by Austin Tirado

THE GUITARIST with American rock band Leeland, whose critically acclaimed album 'Sound Of Melodies' was recently released in the UK by Integrity-Provident, has parted company with the band. Said Jeremiah Wood, "I will be leaving the band and moving on to pursue personal interests. It has been an amazing four years playing with Leeland and a true honour to be a part of this ministry." Wood has been replaced by new guitarist Austin Tirado. Leeland will be flying to Japan in February to promote their 'Sound Of Melodies' album which is due to be released there by Sony-BMG Japan.

i will like to know the full explanation
of why a member of chrisian band like
leeland leaves, is sad, cause the short
answer he gaves is "pursue pesonal interests"
what is a ministry for him? a way to realize himself?
a way to feel he's ok with god? i hope he doesn't
i hate that are few real converted "christian" bands
in U.S.A, and a lot of them finish quiting, cause they g
caught in the world of fame.

Jonathan and readers, in the Christian music industry, things are not always as they seem, and sometimes people are made to say things that aren't exactly as they are. I hope you will continue to pray for Jeremiah and not judge him. God bless.

that's all old news, obviously if you are a leeland fan you know that their current guitarist is matt campbell and i believe this lineup is for good! also, the album sound of melodies is awesome! and the newer one, released in 2008 is great too, opposite way! rock on leeland and as always, God bless you!

I would have to say that the cross rhythm's review of Leeland's CD is horrible. I couldn't disagree more. The reviewer compared a lyric to a 19th. century preacher... I would rather listen to Leeland any day over some christian band that has lyrics that are so blurred that it could be country music. Finally a "Good" christian band that doesn't sound like a christian band that has awesome lyrics that don't compromise. Also the reviewer compares Leeland to Keane, does he listen to music?? Keane. Copeland would be a much closer call. Leeland could be the band that indie kids everywhere actually listen to depsite being christian. Have you read Leeland's influences? Copeland, M83, Muse...no wonder they are good, some people need to broaden their musical boundaries

When I first heard Leeland, the first song I heard was "Count Me In" and I thought they sounded alot like Keane. I went so far as to think the lead singer was in his late twenties and had brown hair....!

Wow. I'm a huge Leeland fan and I just found this whole deal out today. Well I hope Leeland will do just as well or better with this new guy. We'll see what happens. It's amazing that they're going to Japan! Wow they're getting popular!
