Former frontman of The Dumdums returns with solo EP.
THE FORMER frontman and principle songwriter of popular mainstream band The Dumdums, Josh Doyle, has returned to the music scene after a three and a half year absence. The British-born singer now living in the USA spoke about his first solo release, an EP which will be released on 1st November. Said Doyle, "I have been working here in Nashville with my producer, making some exciting new music. I should really be aloof and cool about it but it has turned out so well - new sounds, new beats, great melodies and heartfelt lyrics, that's what you can expect. This isn't going to be your usual 'band guy goes solo' thing. It's acoustic, it's emotional, it's electronic, it's the future and it rocks. It's beats made out of camera noises and water. It's unlike anything out there at the moment but it's totally accessible and it's totally song oriented. I am really excited about it...can you tell? And my producer is a top new talent that you will be hearing more of. The new EP is the next step from 'It Goes Without Saying' thematically and musically. It actually starts where 'Setting Sail' left off at the end of the album. Where 'IGWS' was about growing up and being faced with the future, this EP is about moving on and being out in the world on your own. It's exciting because I think people will connect with it. I think people will have gone through the same things as I have."
