UK pop rockers As If. . . talk about 'In Full Bloom' album
ALL THE LYRICS for the new album by British Christian rock team As If... were inspired by visiting websites. The album, 'In Full Bloom', due to be released independently in February, was produced by band leader Phil Goss at his Appletree Studios in Buckinghamshire. Amongst the songs is one about the Rev Kirk who translated the Bible into Celtic in the 18th century and was subsequently murdered by religious authorities who circulated the story that he had been taken by fairies; a song about the scientist Isaac Newton who is credited with defining gravity, bringing out a spiritual point that we can all fall down spiritually; and the song "babel.com", investigating how dangerous the internet can be.
'In Full Bloom' features sax player Ben Castle amongst its guests. Said Phil Goss, "The album is a definite change of style for us. We are still keeping the dancy thing though there are a lot more guitars and a lot more real drums. It's a little like a cross between the Chemical Brothers and Pink Floyd while the whole concept of the album explores the need for us to reach full bloom in Jesus."
