Da T.R.U.T.H. steps down from ministry after "moral indiscretion"
THE CHRISTIAN music world has been shocked by an announcement from top selling Christian rapper Da T.R.U.T.H. admitting "moral indiscretion". Emanuel L Lambert Jr (Da T.R.U.T.H.) told his supporters he was "taking a sabbatical from music ministry and teaching" to work closely with his pastor, church and restoration team. The MC, whose album 'The Faith' won a Stellar Award in 2007 followed by big selling CDs 'Open Book' (2007) and 'The Big Picture' (2009), the latter album featuring contributions from Kirk Franklin and Tye Tribbett and which reached number two of Billboard's Gospel Chart and number four on the Contemporary Christian Chart, published a statement on his website. It read, "I ask for your forgiveness as I work towards reconciliation. My greatest hope is that my failures and short comings are seen for what they are - MY failings and not a reflection of the God that I proclaim. Despite my falling short, the resurrection and life changing power of the cross remains the same. While I never imagined myself ever being here, I humbly ask that you lift my family and me up in prayer for the wisdom, healing and restoration we need. I look forward to the day when I will stand before you again while living a life that reflects the power of the glorious gospel."
Da T.R.U.T.H.'s announcement follows the disclosure of the moral fall of another Cross Movement Records artist, The Ambassador.
