Missouri's Lyrycyst apologises to supporters, plans new start

THE MISSOURI-based rapper Lyrycyst, who released the critically acclaimed albums 'American Dream' (2006) and 'Masquerade' (2007), has written an open letter to all his contacts and supporters. He wrote, "As many of you know this past year has been an incredibly dark time in my life. I know most of you don't know the details of what's happened, and hopefully soon I'll be able to begin sharing it with you, but just know that I've went through an incredible struggle in my personal beliefs, my self-worth and my identity."

Lyrycyst continued, "I've spent the past year sorting through a lot of my issues and have finally reached a place I'm confident in. I am reaching out to all of you to simply apologize. I'm sorry. I've hurt a lot of you personally, I've let many of you down, I made a lot of bad decisions and I've destroyed my music career in the process. When I began making music, I had this dream to inspire the world. I wanted to make rap music that was completely different from the normal rap out today. Something with a positive message, full of hope and encouragement, that was offered to everyone. Whether Christian or non-Christian, gay or straight, rich or poor, whatever. . . I wanted share love and use my music as an outlet to make a difference. Whether that difference was charity work, volunteering, or utilizing my fame and influence to get people involved with various projects that give back. Somewhere along the road I lost this dream. . . and I'm on a mission to get it back and do what I originally set out to do."
