Mark Heard to produce Garth Hewitt's upcoming album in America
GARTH HEWITT, currently touring Britain with his 'Chain Of Love' show highlighting the plight of Palestinian Christians, is shortly to begin work on his new album in America. Producer for the project will be US Acoustic-rock veteran Mark Heard. Hewitt expects the project to be less country-tinged than his latest Nashville-recorded album. "I have country in my roots, but I also have folk in my roots," explained Hewitt, "and I expect this album to have more of a rootsy folky style, with the songs built up around a guitar/harmonica base. I'm hoping Mark Heard will play guitar, mandolin and piano accordion on the album." Hewitt has travelled extensively in the last year, and the album's subject matter reflects that, with songs based on his experience in the Philippines, Palestine, South Africa and Brazil. Working title for the album is "Lonesome Troubadour" and the expected release date is April 1991.
