Wholesale piracy of Christian music in Latin America exposed.
IN A MAJOR front page feature American trade magazine Christian Retailing documented the international problem of pirated Christian books and music. The article, accompanied by a picture of a street vendor in Peru selling a pirated copy of a CD by praise and worship leader Paul Wilbur, documented how Integrity Music's sales in Latin America have plunged more than 60 per cent during the last four years. The article quoted Paul Navac, of Integrity's Latin American division, and how he encountered a street market packed with pirated products two stories high. "It's worse than a terminal cancer. The main problem with pirating right now is the church members who don't realise what they're doing when they buy pirated copies."
