Torquay New Eden event set to bring evangelism to holiday makers

A 16 MEMBER black gospel choir, Heartstrings, are set to minister at Torquay's free festival, New Eden. The event, to be held at Torre Abbey Meadows, Torquay on 6th and 7th July, will feature Bristol's Heartstrings in a Sunday morning outreach event where they will minister alongside Cheshire-based singer/songwriter Steve Parsons. After the outreach event there will be a mass picnic with members of numerous West Country churches followed by a celebration service in the afternoon.

The Saturday programme, which will kick off at 10.00am and go through the 10.00pm, will feature pop rock band Kato, all girl group T-Girl with DJ Ebonii, blues and worship veteran Bryn Haworth and classical music's John Bryden and Andrew Wendon. Also playing at the festival will be comedian Jon Archer and the Riding Lights Roughshod. There will also be drama and dance workshops. Said festival chairman Charlie Allansen, "New Eden 2002 is going to be a great opportunity for people to experience quality Christian art with a definite spiritual message."
