Grants have been received by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society and London Community Gospel Choir
AMONGST recipients of grants from the National Federation For youth Music under its programme Singing Challenge giving young people the chance to join programmes involving them in Gospel music, are the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society and Choir Connextion/London Community Gospel Choir. The LVPS received £13,425" as one of the first orchestras to set up a community education department in the '8Os. They will now create a youth gospel choir under the direction of Jason Estridge and will train local teachers and youth workers. The orchestra already have an adult Gospel choir.
£15,000 has gone to LCGC to introduce now Singing workshops to young people in the Midlands, the North East and the South East.
