Plymouth Sound to begin broadcasting Cross Rhythms radio programme.
IT HAS BEEN agreed that ILR station Plymouth Sound will begin to broadcast the Cross Rhythms radio show from 1st February. Chris Cole will be the presenter and regular guest will be Australian Christian apologist and Cross Rhythms columnist John Smith. The finance (as reported in CR8) will come from Devon churches.
Says Chris Cole "The programme is culturally relevant to the community and, although it is distinctly Christian, it's designed to fit in with the rest of the broadcasts on Plymouth Sound".
The plan to put the show on Devon Air (see CR8) has been delayed due to the fact that Devon Air has not yet split frequencies. The situation hopefully will be re-addressed in July.
Another step in the development of the Cross Rhythms Christian radio vision is the announcement that radio presenter Alison Burnett is to present a programme called Cross Rhythms in an attempt to "tie in with what Chris is doing". Alison has an hourly slot once a week, packed with contemporary Christian music. Her show, pre-recorded in Gloucester, is broadcast on Quality Europe FM - a satellite radio station available to anybody in Europe and the UK with a B-Sky-B or Astra receiver. Alison commented: "I'm thrilled with the potential of this programme being broadcast to such a wide audience. My aim is to tell anybody listening that Christian music isn't awful but represents some of the best music around."
