Gabrielle made a surprise appearance at Cross Rhythms Festival
POP SENSATION Gabrielle (pictured), voted female vocalist of the year at the Brit Awards recently, made a surprise appearance on the Alpha Zone hour-long Channel Five TV special recorded at the Cross Rhythms Festival in Okehampton, Devon and transmitted on 20th July. Gabrielle spoke about her Christian faith and, among other things, expressed her enthusiasm for the Beehive set at the festival. The Alpha Zone show, produced and presented by Jennifer Hughes, highlighted the Cross Rhythms performances by Eric Champion, Jillian, Danny B & Natasha, Psalmistry and Bleach. The event, held at Risdon Farm, Okehampton on 11th to 13th July, attracted over 3,000 festivalgoers. Said Cross Rhythms CEO Chris Cole, "There was a very deep move of God at the event this year and ministers like Brennan Manning, Louis Els and Jillian were the vehicle for touching hundreds of lives with a sense of God's grace."
Later programmes in the Alpha Zone were an exploration of the UK gospel scene (transmitted on the 27th July) and a forthcoming look at the growing Christian indie rock scene with Flow, Taste and Why?, to be shown on 3rd August.
