Kirk Franklin caught up in riots in Kampala, Uganda
AMERICAN gospel star Kirk Franklin was caught up in riots in Kampala, Uganda, on 10th September on his way from the home of Ugandan Vice President, Gilbert Bukenya in Kakiri, Wakiso district. The riot started at around midday when civilians fought with security operatives after rumours that Buganda Kingdom Premier Eng John Baptist Walusimbi had been arrested on his way to Kayunga. Franklin had just paid Bukenya a courtesy call, ahead of his show at Nakivubo Stadium. The fleet of cars in which Franklin was travelling was forced to seek refuge at Nansana Police Station.
