Evangelist training school launched by The Message
MANCHESTER-based The Message, home of the World Wide Message Tribe, has launched Xcelerate, an evangelists training school. The 20 week residential course, which starts in February 2001, aims to develop and equip the students through teaching, ministry, disciple-ship and practical placements, to see them released into Christian ministry. The course is being led by The Message's Matt Wilson who has spent the last two years as campaign manager for Soul Survivor's The Message 2000. Matt will be assisted by World Wide Message Tribe member Colette Smethurst. Andy Hawthorne, the founder of The Message, will also be teaching on the course.
The students will also benefit from many visiting lecturers - well known evangelists and teachers including Phil Wall (Salvation Army), Roy Crowne (YFC) and Pete Gilbert (Pioneer). The course is open to anyone aged between 18-25. No previous experience is necessary but they will need to prove a heart for evangelism. The second in-take is planned for August 2001.
