The late Eva Cassidy highlighted in new book
THE TRAGICALLY short life of singer Eva Cassidy is examined in a new book Behind The Rainbow written by Johan Bakker and published by Omnibus Press. The book describes Eva's complicated relationships with her father Hugh and her friend, producer and bassist Chris Biondo. Read a press release, "Behind The Rainbow traces Eva's short life, her idealism and her disillusionment with the business side of her trade. The old axiom 'where there's a hit there's a writ' certainly proved to be the case with Eva; as the millions piled up in royalties those who had an interest in this goldmine began to take sides and simmering resentment was the result. Eva knew who she was dealing with and foresaw this when she hesitated to sign a record contract. She was often heard to say, 'When it comes to money, people show their true colours'."
