Steven Curtis Chapman takes home five awards at 1991 Doves.
THE 22ND Annual Dove Awards for gospel music were presented on 11th April at the Grand Ol' Opry in Nashville Tennessee. The event was covered by American television. Last year's big winner Steven Curtis Chapman, who was nominated for ten Doves took home five. Petra which had never previously won a Dove despite nearly 20 years in music, took home awards for Rock Recorded Song of the Year, Rock Album of the Year and Group of the Year. Dove Awards co-host Sandi Patti was again Female Vocalist of the Year for a record-breaking 10th consecutive time.
