Gospel singer Donnie McClurkin to record album in the UK
AMERICAN gospel star Donnie McClurkin has recorded his second
album live in September at Croydon's Fairfield Hall backed by a
British band and choir. Commenting on his surprising decision to
record his album in the UK, Donnie said, "London is a great place. I
love its history, its people and music and have always wanted to
record there. There are some great British gospel artists and I wanted
to capture some of the energy and excitement of the thriving gospel
scene in London on my recording.
The album will be released by
Zomba/Verity. McClurkin's 1997 debut album for Warner Alliance
garnered two Grammy nominations and sold nearly 400,000 copies.
