Delirious? are to re-release their single "Deeper"
THE LITTLEHAMPTON rock praise phenomenon Delirious? are to re-release their single "Deeper" half way through their 1O-city D:tour. Said the band's bass player Jim Bryan about the decision, "We realise that many of our existing fans will already have 'Deeper' either on the single or the album but this is in response to the demands from radio stations which really indicated that 'Deeper' is the song that could really break through for us. We're not neglecting our supporters though. We're in the studio now recording two brand new songs of the calibre of anything on 'King Of Fools' or the 'Deeper' single. Really it's an EP as the single will also contain the live at Wembley recording of 'Sanctify' which won't be available on anything else."
About the tour, Jim Bryan says that the band are very expectant. "In terms of venue, crowds, etc this is our biggest tour so far. What we're excited about is that it will give us an opportunity to kick things up a few notches creatively. There'll be lots of video for instance. A lot of our fans have seen us in the last year but this is, we believe, a great opportunity for them to bring their friends, whether Christian or not."
In September Tony Patoto joined the band as their manager. Tony has spent the last seven years at The Total Record Company where he was sales and marketing director. He met the band as Total distributed and marketed their recent releases. His leaving was entirely amicable and is, as he says, "something that I just have to do - I believe 100 per cent in where this band can go."
Already Tony has negotiated a major deal in America with Virgin and Sparrow, and is currently sinking his teeth into the forthcoming D:tour. Says Tony, "I wish Total all the best in everything they are doing and thank them for their support as I start with Delirious?." Full details of the D:tour are: 27 Oct, Folkestone, Lees Cliff Apollo (01303 253193); 28 Oct, Leicester, De Montfort Hall (0116 2333111); 29 Oct, Grimbsy, Auditorium (01472 311311); 30 Oct, Manchester, Academy (0161 275 2930/0161 832 1111); 1 Nov, London, Shepherd's Bush Empire (0181 740 740), 3 Nov, Leeds, Town & Country (0113 280 0100); 4 Nov, Wolverhampton, Civic Hall (01902 312030); 6 Nov, St Austell, Coliseum (01726 814004); 7 Nov, Exeter, Greathall (01392 263519/01392 425309); 8 Nov, Southampton, Guildhall (01703 632601).
