Skillet, Blissed and the Violet Burning to play London in December.
POPULAR Memphis rock band Skillet Blissed, whose leader Robert Sweet rose to stardom in the '80s with glam metal team Stryper and alternative rock worship pioneers from California the Violet Burning are all to play the CRN-UK festival (otherwise known as Christmas Rock Night London). The event, due to be held at the Garage in London from 3rd to 7th December, will also feature singer/songwriter Cathy Burton, pop rock team Quench, popular Bristol band Steve, Scottish rock unit Superhero, Welsh hard music band Axlanbay, popular punk group Zedisforzebra and mainstream band White Buffalo. Said a spokesperson for the event, "The big YMCA Sunday event has been expanded and now includes rock worship and the very exciting prospect of the first UCAM (UK Christian Awards for Music) Awards being staged during the event. The whole day is hosted by Phil Wright of the YMCA - known for his Rolling Magazine at the Greenbelt Festival. Youth groups (14+) are being encouraged to come along this year."
