December 11th features as Christian Hip-Hop Day to boost Christian Hip-Hop

IN AMERICA a Support Christian Hip-Hop Day was called by Josh "Plastic" (Sphere of Hip Hop/Uprok Records) and Rockstar, aka E-roc (Rescue Records) for December 11th. Stated Plastic, "According to Billboard magazine, hip-hop was the number one selling secular music genre in the world last year in the secular market but for some reason it has been relegated to the bottom shelves at Christian stores, if it makes it onto the shelves at all. We want to be proactive and let retailers know that hip hop is out there and that people want to buy it."

Plastic and Rockstar (who began making waves in the industry 10 years ago as one of the first Christian hip-hop artists) asked those who believe in the ministry of Christian hip-hop to do something about it. Explained rockstar, "We asked people to make a trip to the Christian stores on December 11th and do three things: purchase a hip-hop CD, ask the retailer to carry more hip-hop and ask for them to let people know that this music is available to them." CR
