British Christian musicians Stephen Bennett, Chris Bowater, Ray Bevan, John Francis are among presenters on new TV channel
WELL KNOWN British Christian musicians Stephen Bennett, Chris Bowater, Ray Bevan and John Francis are among the presenters of programmes on the new Channel 7 Europe satellite TV channel which was launched on February 14th. The station is available via the Astra satellite on the National Geographic Channel with initially programmes being from 1.00-2.00am and then from 4.00-6.00am. The programmes include The Prophet Musician with Stephen Bennett and Chris Bowater; Music & Light, a daily 10 minutes of Christian music videos; In The Spirit with black church leader John Francis; The Flame Is Burning with Welsh pastor/Bible teacher Ray Bevan and Walk Right In with Zee Markee, the wife of pastor/musician Dave Markee.
Said Stephen Bennett, who with John Hammond and Anthony Meade is one of the directors of Channel 7 Europe, "God has done a miracle to get this station on air. Now the three hours of programmes nightly are going out to 50 countries with quality Christian ministry, teaching and music. We're not going down the American evangelism style of programming road. Though we have some American programmes, we are now creating programmes which really have appeal for the UK and Europe."
Musician and author Stephen Bennett last year produced and directed the highly acclaimed 'Live From Wembley Stadium: Champion Of The World' video for Kingsway and is now directing and co-presenting with Chris Bowater The Prophet Musician where guests like Noel Richards, Toronto Airport Church's John and Carol Arnott and Iona's Terl Bryant talk about their work.
Stephen, who recently relocated to Croydon after working with the Christian Outreach Centre in Eastbourne, is currently working on a dance-orientated album 'Dancing In The Street' which he hopes will be released in time for the Cross Rhythms Festival in July where he's ministering.
