Singer/songwriter Paul Field pens musical highlighting the Abolitionists' campaign to stop slavery

A MUSICAL which tells the story of the Abolitionists' campaign to halt the African slave trade has been written by hitmaking singer/songwriter Paul Field. Cargo will be premiered at the City Hall in Hull on 31st March 2007. Similar large scale productions will take place in London, Plymouth, Bristol and Liverpool. Organisations/campaigns such as Stop The Traffik, Compassion, Anti-Slavery International and Fair Trade are supporting the project. Paul Field will be performing extracts from Cargo on a Stop The Traffik national tour which kicks off in Manchester on 28th January 2007. CR
