British independent artists honoured at this year's CBC Awards
BRITAIN'S Christian Broadcasting Council have announced that this year's music awards will highlight the growing groundswell of independent artists. Said CBC's Jonathan Bellamy, "We want to bring encouragement to Britain's growing army of grassroots artists who record and release music without the benefit and finance of record companies." The CBC Media Awards, themed An Audience Of ONE, will take place on 25th February at St Michael's Church in London.
Nominations for the music section of the awards are: Best Independent Urban/Gospel Album: Ryan Carty 'Journey To Purpose', Tunday 'Identity', Victizzle 'In My World'; Best Independent Contemporary Album: Galactus Jack 'Reality Bytes', Rob Halligan 'Best Thing That's Happened', Helen Jayne McKellar 'It's Not Too Late'; Best Independent Worship Album: Godfrey Birtill & Band 'Hijacked Into Paradise', Jamielish 'You Are My Everything', Riverdeep 'Rise'.
