TV personality Dr Bobby Jones' new book causes controversy
A NEW BOOK by America's most touted gospel music television personality, Dr Bobby Jones, has caused controversy. Make A Joyful Noise is a candid account of Jones' life in gospel and includes a section in the book entitled The Jealous Winans; remarks about Mahalia Jackson not being able to keep time; and comments that the late James Cleveland left the affairs of his organisation (the Gospel Music Workshop Of America) in a shambles. Jones told Gospel Today magazine, "I wanted people to hear the truth from me... If everything I wrote was picture perfect, that would not be a true picture of who I am and how I perceived certain situations at that time."
