Rock group Eden Burning have disbanded
CHELTENHAM ROOTS ROCKERS Eden Burning have broken up. Their appearance at the Greenbelt Festival was their last concert. Since their inception in 1991 the band, through a series of successful albums like 'Smilingly Home', 'Mirth And Matter' and 'Brink' and constant touring have built up a huge cult following. However, attempts to break them into the mainstream with various single releases met with only limited success.
Said the band's ex-lead singer Paul Northup, "We have come to this decision together over the last few months and it feels like a natural end to the season in the band's life." Northup will be working with his local church and setting up a weekly meeting in a pub.
- Acid jazz team Capitaan who recently released the popular 'Driftwood' EP on the new ICY label have decided to "put things on hold".
- Rock evangelists Mudhead's Monkey have also called an indefinite
postponement of their activities. The band were only recently featured
in Cross Rhythms.
