IN WHAT is being referred to as 'the British Invasion' UK artists Delirious?, Matt Redman and others are making inroads into the insular America CCM scene. Delirious? have seen the 'Cutting Edge' album on Sparrow, a 20-song compilation of tracks from the band's four Cutting Edge EPs reaching number seven in CCM Update's Rock/Alternative/Rap chart.
The Matt Redman album Star Song Records have compiled for America, 'Passion For His Name', has received enthusiastic reviews and Matt has been asked to play at the World Baptist Youth Convention in July, one of the world's largest church gatherings with 60,000 attending.
Worship leaders Stuart Townend and Dave Fellingham and the Stoneleigh Band have recently returned from a major worship conference on Rhode Island where they ministered alongside Kevin Prosch. Said Townend, "Interest in radical worship is really taking hold in the States, there is hunger for God...a prophetic expectation."
