Cross Rhythms undergoes revamp

A REVAMPED and redesigned magazine and a new drive to make the whole Cross Rhythms ministry self supporting through an expanding donor base are both to be launched early in 2001.

Cross Rhythms magazine is to be completely redesigned and expanded with the April/May issue. The revamped Cross Rhythms will feature more colour pages and with the reviews, news and charts placed together in a bound-in section of the magazine. There will be no increase in price even though the new magazine will carry an additional four editorial pages. Said editor Tony Cummings, "The April/May issue will complete 11 years of publication, no mean feat for an independent music magazine. Now is the time to attract new readers so that they may support the growing Christian music counter culture. We are excited about the direction in which the magazine is heading."

Cross Rhythms has recently begun a major campaign encouraging all the supporters of its various strands ministry activity - radio, festivals, TV, magazine, internet and roadshows - to join an expanding support base currently known as Friends Of Cross Rhythms. The new initiative will ask Cross Rhythms supporters to make monthly donations to support Cross Rhythms' multifarious activities. In return, all Cross Rhythms Friends will receive the Cross Rhythms magazine and a ticket to its Devon festival. Explained Cross Rhythms' CEO Chris Cole, "This ministry is at a pivotal time in its history. Having laboured over many years to help build a small but resilient infrastructure to support Christian music ministry, we now need as many of our supporters as possible to move from being mere 'consumers' of one or more of our products to being co-workers with us. That is what the Cross Rhythms Champions will effectively be."
