We asked a batch of Christian musicians to talk about a book they'd recently read. Here's what they told us.

Tim Hughes
"I've just finished reading a book called The Circle
Maker by a guy called Mark Batterson, who is
based in Washington DC. It's about prayer, faith, stepping out, the
promises of God. I've found that hugely helpful. In my personal life,
I don't want to settle: I want to keep stepping out, dreaming big with
my family. For me, more than any other book recently, it impacted my
prayer life, my relationship with God. You read lots of books which
are interesting, but this has helped change my practices. It's a great
book."
Noel and Tricia
Richards
"Tricia has just been reading a book we picked
up in the US called Nearing Home by Billy
Graham. She has suggested I read it. It deals with the
process of getting older and learning to live well in the later years.
Good advice and much wisdom for those who are 50+."
Melissa Mage of
Bellarive
"There's a book called The Power Of
One by Bryce Courtenay. It's about a young
boy in South Africa during the Apartheid craziness and he just rises
from the ashes. It's one of the most powerful stories."
Luke Hellebronth
"I'd really recommend God On Mute by
Pete Grieg to people who would love to get to grips a
little more with prayer - perhaps people who have had unanswered
prayers, they feel God's silent. Pete's written this great book which
explores that; he talks very honestly and openly about some of the
struggles he's had with his prayer life, various things he's been
through. It's a brilliant book."
Gareth Gilkeson of Rend
Collective
"I'm reading a book called
Start by Jon Acuff. He is a
motivational speaker. He's a Christian guy, but the whole thing is
basically, 'Just start something instead of sitting around thinking
about it'. The subtitle is Moving From Average To Awesome. I think
that's what all of us want to do."
Deji Jubal of Four
Kornerz
"My fiancée recommended a book called
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
It was inspired by the story of Hosea and it blew me away. When she
gave it me she said, 'It's probably more geared towards women, but I
think you'll enjoy this'. I read it, and it completely transformed me.
I like fictional books, but when I read that it brought out some
incredible things about love."
