The last time Windsor deejay and producer Marc spoke to Cross Rhythms it coincided with the release of 'Cross Rhythms: Sanctified Dance From The UK Underground', the hot compilation from N-Soul/Velocity which featured Marc's monumental acid/house/trance epic "Morning Time". A lot has happened since then. Marc has been working on a new killer tune "The Rhythm Of The Holy Spirit" which promises to be every bit as dazzling as its predecessor; he's hooked up to do some recording with Marek, the mastermind behind the Harmonics "Landslide" underground hit; and he's been offered a residency at House Of Windsor, THE happening club in the Windsor area.

"The music that I play is different from a lot of the deejays," says Marc. "It's hard but uplifting, it often has lots of strings and very imaginative production. Like that BT sound 'Divinity'. I cry when I play this kind of music. It's very deep and has a profound effect on an audience. It really does direct people."

Marc seldom gets the chance to play to a Christian audience. What, I wonder, will a CCM crowd like the one he'll be playing to at the Cross Rhythms Fest make of the records he plays. "I think they'll really respond though it won't be easy -I usually do at least a two hour spot in the clubs and take the crowd on a real musical journey. I won't have that kind of time at Cross Rhythms! Having said that, I'm really, really looking forward to it."

Marc is an exceedingly busy bloke. As well as his deejaying and producing he finds time to go to occasional meetings and give his testimony (he was due to speak at Brunei University Student Union the following night) and is lined up to participate in a 'Peanut Pete' roadshow based on the popular Manchester comic strip. Marc also is a member of a band called Irony ("it's driving rock 'n' roll") playing congas and drums. House/trance deejays aren't normally this eclectic.

"Well, a lot of house music is very linear," says Marc. "I like to bring in other musical influences - rock and jazz. For instance, on 'Rhythm Of The Holy Spirit', I'll be using live bass and lots of percussion. It gives the music more life."
