Matthew 25: 14-30
Jesus spoke and still speaks powerfully through these things called parables. We tend to read them like nice stories but they reveal incredible things about the Kingdom and the Father. Read this passage thoroughly til' you understand it and ask God for further revelation.
I love this parable and am thankful for those who have inspired me with some understanding & revelation on it. There's still plenty to learn I'm sure!
We could explore many avenues with this one but I know God wants to encourage you with a couple of simple truths about how his Kingdom operates.
We read how the master gives his servants different amounts of talents and leaves them to use them ultimately for his purpose, he returns and judges how well they used them and rewards them justly.
Key principles for your Christian life from this parable
1) We are all given different gifting/talents and will be judged in
life as to how well we used our own, not according to anyone else's
standards
2) The key to success in Christian life is marked out
in verse 21 and 23
"Well done, good and faithful servant, you
have been faithful over a few things I will make you ruler over many
things. Enter into the joy of your Lord."
God didn't say well done good and anointed servant or well done good and blessed servant. Why because these are gifts He gives, like most everything else you have !
The only thing we can give God with our lives is faithfulness
When we do this we find we are entrusted with more, rewarded and we truly walk in joy.
This is another hallmark of successful Christian living so :-
-
Serve faithfully, obeying God's commands, committing your life to His
pursuance and use what you have been given well.
Jesus wants you to be the servant that receives that accolade :-
"Well done, good and faithful servant"
Live it !
